I too have use both yak tracks and screw shoes. Here is the way I see it: Yak Tracks: cost $10-$20 depending on where you buy them.... rocks and pavement kill them quick... and going hill they tend to slip past the toe at least for me, forcing me to stop and adjust constantly--this also stresses the rubber causing them to break prematurely. Screw: $2-$3,,, they give amazing tracktion, though at times on a long hard run I find I'm a few less on the return trip... so I make up for it by putting lots in... still, a tw o bucks I can afford to loose a few.
