I was visiting family in Colorado Springs and they kept talking about hiking "The Incline." I'd never heard of it, but I love a challenge. On the morning of Aug. 6, I started up the trail with two cousins who had hiked it before. They had to wait for me several times as I huffed and puffed my way up, but the thrill of reaching the top made up for all the effort! I wish I lived close enough to hike it at least once a week. You have a real treasure there, and I hope you can keep it open to the public, while maintaining the peculiar atmosphere about the trail that seems to bring all hikers together.
