2011 Season News
01/29/12 Sun: 62 showed for a day that warmed up nicely. And compared to last week a LOT of ice is good from Longs Ranch Road. Nice!
01/22/12 Sun: At least 72 ICers headed out on an ICEfest today! I can actually say I don't remember this much ice! Quite a few reports of falls even amongst those with traction devices. But hey, we ran and running is good.
01/15/12 Sun: 62 came out for the club run today. Longs was snow packed with a few bare spots. Barr was still icy but a little better than last time. It warmed up pretty good today but not as good as we were led to believe.
01/08/12 Sun: 69 ICers took off on another cold day. But the sun broke through the clouds and it got above freezing. Lots of ice out there so more are opting for Longs Ranch Road.
01/01/12 Sun: With some off running the Rescue Ron 10K and others perhaps a little hungover 43 were left to take on Longs Ranch Road today. Temps start out at 19 and only warmed up a little to 30. There was lots of snow on Longs and lots of ice on the Barr Trail for the trip down. Just one of those runs that needed to be done and now is done.
12/25/11 Sun: For only the 2nd time in 16 years the Sunday run fell on Christmas day. As such we started out with an X-mas gift exchange sprint with Lindsay Cavner leading the pack back to the presents. Then 37 ICers took off on a cold run in slippery snow which added about 30% to our normal times. But we got the run done and then headed home to enjoy the rest of the Holidays.
12/18/11 Sun: 88 ICers got some awesome weather today! It started out at 36 and quickly got up to the 50s which has many peeling off layers of clothes on the trip up Longs Ranch Road. A little packed snow but like Waldo still no ice yet.
12/11/11 Sun: 83 came out for a day that got up to 50 degrees. Keeping up with our alternating run program we were back on Waldo. A little more snow than two weeks ago but still no ice. Awesome.
12/04/11 Sun: 63 ICers braved a cold day of only 17 degrees. But unlike last week it id not warm up much. However, this club seems to like it that way so out Ute we headed to take on the snow on Longs Ranch Road. Barr is in great shape with no ice yet.
11/27/11 Sun: 112 signed in for the first run of the 2012 season. Things started off a a tad cold but after a group photo
we headed off to go find Waldo and along the way it slowly warmed up. Waldo has had some nice trail work done since the last time I was there which was early last season.
Beyond that things are pretty much as we left them. After the run we had a feedbag where everyone brought enough food for themselves and 2 others. Nothing like a little
food right after a run to make everything perfect. YUM! Tim over at PikesPeakSports.us took some nice photos before and during the run.
Now if we only knew what Michael Everson was doing in his photo.
11/23/11 Wed: Another e-mail was sent out announcing the first club run of the 2012 season on November 27th.
11/15/11 Wed: An e-mail was sent out today announcing the start of the 2012 season our 16th.
