Subject: Long Run #3 Reminder

Hi sick people...

If you received this message by mistake please reply with “go to hell jerk” in the subject line...

Although most spam messages come with removal instructions, I have yet to be able to do so because their mail boxes are always too full of other people’s mail trying to do the same thing as me... However, several of you responded last week that you have “religious” conflicts with the Sunday long runs. One club member even went so far as to call me a messenger from the “evil one!”

I assure you I am not, and I also assure you that we will not be moving our runs on the grounds that that would violate laws concerning separation of Church and Running. So if you do NOT want to be reminded to come to something that you have no plans on coming to, let me know and I will remove you from the list. You can always get back on the list when we start back up our Thursday fun on the Incline.

Otherwise, you can just hit the delete button once a week because frankly I do not know how to respond when someone mails me a message saying they can’t come to a workout. I tend to take it personal and I start to cry when I think that there will be one more person in the world who will not have a proper distance base when summer rolls around;-)

Next, I think it may be fun to start a “top list of excuses sent to me for not coming to this or that workout.” Out of fairness I will not post old ones so lets start a new list shall we? Well, on second thought I MUST use the one about the person’s dog breaking a toenail, but aside from that I will start a new list --> send in your entries now!

Also, because I got so many questions about the long runs I updated our FAQ to address most of them. If someone happens to head that way on my site, please feel free to let me know about any stupid mistakes I may have made.

At any rate, this is your reminder that at 8am on Sunday we will be back on Ute Indian Trail. Again we meet right next to the little white shed at the base of the Incline. Several people are heading to the Pueblo Half Marathon but I still expect 6-10 people, so come on out and learn what a real hill in the middle of a long run is!

Top 3 reasons to come to this next one:
3) the planets are all lined up
2) it is so cold that if you sprain an ankle, it will already be iced
1) we are one week closer to Pikes Peak

Go out hard, when it hurts speed up...

The tagline is a joke but if you pull it off I promise you will win every race you enter!
