Subject: Incline V2 TH #8 LR #28
I got 23 e-mails filled with some great sounding trails some that I have
never heard of!!! But along with the favorites I have gotten one request
and/or one hesitation from almost everyone who sent in a list:
Request Share the list. (8 people)
Hesitation By sharing a secret trail that trail suddenly will not
be so secret. (6 people)
Both!? (3 people)
No one asked that the list NOT be shared but one person did ask that it be
shared with individuals and not for publication in some mass medium.
Hopefully the Incline Club does not count as a mass medium:-) Be that as it
may, not counting a few people who are on the list but do not live around
here there are still 32 people who did not send me their favorites. So that
I am at least not sharing your favorites with those who did not share I have
come up with the perfect scam for a MAILING LIST PURGE!!!!
1) Next weeks reminder will include results of the survey
2) The reminder will ONLY be sent to those who sent/send their list of
favorite trails
3) Those not sending favorites (or an excuse like: do not live in your area,
do not know any trails, none of your damm business, etc.) will be REMOVED
FROM THE E-MAILING LIST!!!
Cruel but I hope effective! Sending in your list is a small contribution to
the club and now it is like seat belts; Its quick, its easy and its the
law:-)

Today, Thursday the 28th, is 1 on 1 off for 30 mins from Hydro Street.
Sunday the 31st is the Barr Camp up\back.

Lots of you doing races out there...
Kelly got 4th overall at BB! Cindy got a 1st place at the Armed Forces Day
10K run and set a 10K PR at BB. Paul got 3rd at the AFD 10K. Thom got 7th at
AFD. Ben won his age-group at the AFD. Kevin A says that he had one of my
best short races ever at BB. Jason won another 5K for Adams State in 14:13.
I am sure that there are more but like I said you got to tell me so that I
can tell all!

Getting time I guess to start thinking about Elk Park runs? I would think
that most of the way to Barr Camp is pretty much snow free. Perhaps someone
who likes to run extra (Kevin A?) can be a scout on Sunday. One thing is for
sure it is too early to run to the top on Barr Trail (see the note below).
Last year we did our first Elk Park run to the top on June 22 and there was
snow on parts of the Barr Trail but it was very runable. There was only snow
on 3 switchbacks on June 29th and there was no snow on July 6th. Since a
lot of us have our Peak passes we *may* run an out and back from Elk
Park to Barr Camp on Sunday, June 7th. That would be about 14 miles of
running at altitudes from 10,200 -11,875. Will know more after the weekend
and will decide for the 7th then as of now it is still the Ute Loop for
the 7th.

And in the twisted department (anyone have a spare GPS and ASB to spare
this guy is going to get killed!) we have this from Jay Engel:
I ran Saturday instead. Went way up near the summit. The snow was just
awful and somewhat dangerous. I kept falling through drifts up to my
shoulders not too smart. Lots of water running underneath. Got lost on
the return not fun. Finally hit Barr Camp. Had a major crash running
down and got some good trail rash.
