This Thursday the 23rd (OK I admit it, that is today folks:-) is the 30
minute tempo run from Hydro Street. Meet at the fountain by Spring Street at
5:30pm. Also some of you that are running the peak may want to do a tempo to
Barr Camp (I am) and get a feel for your splits the whole way up.

Sunday the 26th is the Elk Park run. Meet at the Toll Booth at 7am. Those
that have been doing it have gotten a good feel for the top half of the
course and now it is time to start working on splits there too.

Robert R sent me an image of his Incline Club shirt design and I must say I
am having second thoughts about using the Incline course profile. It looks
great! The reason I never liked a similar design on the back of the Ascent
and Marathon shirt is because the profile is not accurate. However the
Incline profile is and it looks too cool! But then again I am biased;-)
Since some of you could give a flying flute about T-shirts I will not send
the image out with this mail but if you wish you can view it here:
http://www.skyrunner.com/tshirt.jpg. This should start your brains flowing
for the back of the shirt. For the front I think a little (2 inches or so)
club logo along with another club slogan (perhaps “Go out hard, when it
hurts speed up”) would do the trick and keep costs down. This is the same
concept for the front that Larry T sent in too. Besides no one ever sees the
front side of Incline Club members:-)

In the slogan category so far we have:

“On the 8th day he made the Incline”
“I can’t believe I did the WHOOOOLE thing!”
“The world’s toughest mile, the world’s craziest club”
“Not because its there but because we are here”
“Over the Top”
“Pueblo State Hospital North” (okay, only locals might get that one.)
“Memberships don’t expire. Members do.”
“Time, distance? Altitude is the 3rd dimension!”
“We will rest when we’re dead”
“Evil, Wicked, Mean and Nasty”
“The Incline, it just sucks!”
“68% up, 100% pain”
“It’s only a mile...”

There were others but in a blind rush to catch up on my e-mail after a trip
I deleted them — sorry:-( So please send them my way — again! Also Rick’s
cartoon concept is still appealing so send in your drawings no matter how
crude.

Go out hard, when it hurts speed up...
