Subject: Incline V2 TH #23 LR #43

This Thursday the 10th from 5:30pm till the neighbors call the police will
be the Incline Club Pre Imogene Pass Carbo Feed. Besides stuffing ourselves
with food there will be a “winner take all” pool tournament. This get
together will also serve to recognize those that have come to 20 or more
workouts over the course of the year along with several “special” awards
that I came up with including the “driven” award which goes to the
individual who I feel worked the hardest and most consistent over the course
of the year. Hanging out and yacking will be the main focus of the evening
but for those that just like to sit and kickback I have videos of several
Everest Skymarathons. Lastly for those that are still sitting on the fence
about coming and need just that little extra incentive FILA sent me 10
T-shirts and 12 hats to give away as random door prizes.

This is not an exclusive party! Don’t feel like you did not come to enough
workouts or whatever — just come. I will be giving out the infamous web
site “*” for this “run” too so here is your chance to get started! Also feel
free to bring friends, significant others, non significant others etc. No
one will be turned away! Also don’t stay home just because you would be
late or have to leave early.

IMPORTANT:
If you know someone who ran with us that is not on the mailing list please
pass this invitation on to them!

DIRECTIONS:
The party is at my house at 36 El Paso Blvd in Manitou Springs. To get there
turn off of Manitou Avenue onto Beckers Lane. Beckers Lane is the main entry
way into the Garden of the Gods Park from the West — it is the street that
the GOG Trading Post is on. For those that the GOG and Trading Post mean
nothing take HWY 24 to the main Manitou Springs exit (#141) and head EAST
(away from Pikes Peak) on Manitou Avenue. The first stoplight you come to is
Beckers Lane. Once on Beckers Lane the first cross-street you will come to
is El Paso Blvd. You will know you are there if at this intersection you see
two baseball fields on your right. My house is across from the outfield of
the first baseball field. This means you will take a right on El Paso and I
am on the corner of El Paso Blvd and Via Linda Vista. It is the far East
Townhome — again that is 36 El Paso Blvd. If you need further instructions
call me at 685-5654.

PARKING:
The PREFERRED parking place will be in the parking spots at the baseball
field where you will have to walk the couple hundred yards to my house.
Parking can also be done along El Paso Blvd next to the baseball fields.
People do it all the time during games so I see no cause for concern here.

WHAT TO BRING:
We will be having Domino’s Pizza as the main dish. Once I get a feel for how
many are going to show we can make the order. The cost of the Pizza will be
split among all those that show. Please bring $5 — preferably ones because
I think it will work out to around $3.

If your last name is in the A-G range bring something to drink; softdrinks,
juices, whatever. If your last name is in the H-M range bring something to
snack on; chips, pretzels, whatever. If your last name is in the N-Z range
bring dessert; ice cream, brownies, ice cream, cookies, ice cream whatever.
Yes, I know the N-Z range is a bit bigger than the other two:-) Also I have
talked to some of you that already have something that is not in your last
name range. If you already have something you need to unload from your last
party or leftover Halloween candy that will work just fine.

For the “winner take all” pool tournament there is a $1 entry fee. The
winner, of course, gets it all hence the name. I warn you now however, Glen
A is bringing his own cue and he and Ben C were talking about the
tournaments they played in Vegas:-O There will also be plenty of just
regular pool.

########

Sunday the 13th there WILL be an Elk Park run for those that are sick enough
to show the day after the Imogene Pass Run. Meet at 7am at the toll-road.
Starting in October the toll-road opens at 9am so that will be our meeting
time then but this is usually the period where we take a month with no formal
club runs anyway:-)

########

Hope to see you all there.

Go out hard, when it hurts speed up...
