Tempo run up the Barr Trail from Hydro Street to No Name Creek or 30 minutes whichever comes first. Run back down the Barr Trail and then do four to six Hydro Street hill repeats. Sunday, June 20th 8 a.m. meet by the Fountain on Spring Street 1/4 mile down Ruxton from the COG RR depot. Run up to the A-Frame and then head back down. Or head to the top and find a ride back down. 3:00 to 4:00 depending on speed and how far you get. **** Congrats to Rick H who, if he shows on Thursday and Sunday, will be alone on top of BOTH workout boards. That is 30 long runs in a row not to mention 41 club workouts in a row both of which will be new club records. **** Speaking of records, we had 28 out last Thursday which set a new Thursday record! **** I got another request to start up Saturday group runs. If we can get 10 people willing to show on Saturdays at 7:00am I would be willing to organize the runs. Last time around 7 people said they were interested but only 3 could make it on a regular basis and they all wanted to go at a different time. 7:00a.m. seems like the average of the times. Let me know if you can make it on a *regular* basis. **** www posts: 6//13/1999 21 people and a dog showed for the Longs Ranch loop. Several opted to head up the Barr Trail including Rick H who filed this report: Made it to the summit today and hitched a ride down. From A-Frame to 2 miles to go there is about 200 yards of snow here and there. The fun starts at 2 Miles to go. Where the trail goes the farthest North on the mountain the snow starts to cover the trail. I bushwhacked it up for about 100 yards to get on the trail. You can stay on trail until you get to around the 16 Golden Stairs. From there I lost trail again. For the most part there is only about a 1/4 Mile of dry trail from the 2 Mile mark to the summit. Its somewhat tough to run on the snow, not because of sinking but because of slipping and going for a ride down the face of the mountain. There is probably a good 3 feet of snow on the trail with some areas deeper, like at 1 mile to go. All you can see is the top of the sign. 6/10/1999 A new club Thursday attendance PR was set when 28 people showed for 30 minutes of 1 minute hard, 1 minute easy. Conditions were perfect. Lots of people gearing up for races in the upcoming weeks. **** Club records: # of dogs on a run: 7 # of Thursdays in a row Rick Hessek: 20 # of people on the Incline: 23 # of people to show for breakfast: 25 # of people on a Thursday: 28 # of Sundays in a row Matt Carpenter, Rick Hessek: 29 (on going) # of people at a party: 30 # of club runs in a row Matt Carpenter, Rick Hessek: 39 (on going) # of people on a Sunday: 39 # of members in a race Pikes Peak A & M: 44 # on e-mailing list: 126 Incline Club Page: http://www.skyrunner.com/incline.htm Incline Club FAQ: http://www.skyrunner.com/incline_faq.htm Incline Club Mosaic Game: http://www.skyrunner.com/game/mosaic_intro.htm This e-mail: http://www.skyrunner.com/incline_mail.htm **** Go out hard, when it hurts speed up...
