Does anyone have any information on the person or persons who took down the
no trespassing sign on the Incline? Please send it my way.

Rick Hessek has a pair of Nike Air Terra Ketchikans that he is giving away.
The size 10s fit more like a 9 1/2 so they are too small for him. They only
have a few runs on them. Let me know if you want them — first come first
serve!!!

Thursday, July 15th, 5:30 p.m. park by the Fountain on Spring Street 1/4
mile down Ruxton from the COG RR depot.
Tempo run up the Barr Trail from Hydro Street to No Name Creek or 30 minutes
whichever comes first. Run back down the Barr Trail and then do four to six
Hydro Street hill repeats or head over and do a time trial to Cave of the
Winds.

Sunday, July 18th, 7 a.m. meet at the toll booth on the Pikes Peak Highway.
After getting through the toll booth park cars and car pool to the Elk Park
Trail Head. Run to Barr Camp and then the top. Hitch a ride back to the
cars. Or run from the bottom trying to time it so that you meet the Elk Park
group at Barr Camp at around 8:30a.m.

Last week several of us ran from the bottom and met the Elk Park group at
Barr Camp. This works well for those that do not have a Peak Pass and do not
want to spend $10 on the drive. Just try to time it so you get to Barr Camp
around 8:30a.m. However it should be noted that this run is harder than the
Elk run so you will not get to push the top half as much and that is the
vary reason for the Elk Park run — to get to do the top half while still
somewhat fresh! Switching off every other week or so is probably the best
bet. If you always do the top slow you will just do it slow in the race!!!

Mike S found the latest fun thing to do to get a good laugh on the Pikes
Peak toll road. Instead of telling the Glen Clove brake check personnel he
came from Elk Park he tells them that he knows how to use his low gear! Mike
registered 57 degrees and the checker told him it was the lowest of the
day:-)

This is a paragraph from the president’s letter in the latest Friends of the
Peak newsletter:

“The spring planting project on Barr Trail, (5/8) was a success. We planted
over 175 seedlings and small native bushes on the first two miles of Barr
Trail. 24 people participated to improve the condition of the trail. At last
check, most of the plantings are surviving, because each plant received a
gallon of water at time of planting. Many thanks to the Incline runners who
ran up the trail with water. I thought I did well to walk up the trail once.
These stalwart individuals ran up and down repeatedly until every planting
received water.”

Thanks again to those that helped. Also they are working on the Peak Pass
discount problem that a few of you have encountered.
