Sent: Tuesday, August 24, 1999 12:19 PM Subject: Incline Club V3 TH #21 LR #40 Official race results are now up, also ascent and descent times have been added to the marathon results. Thanks to Bill B of the PPRR for getting them to me! http://www.skyrunner.com/peak.htm **** Thursday, August 26, 5:30 p.m. meet by the Fountain on Spring Street 1/4 mile down Ruxton from the COG RR depot. We will be doing a social recovery run meaning we will just do some loops down low perhaps run through the old train tunnels etc. Sundays are open to suggestions! I know that some are now going to start getting ready for a fall marathon so perhaps we can start a sub group of non-inclined runs as well as keep up the inclined runs? **** Thanks to Robert and Linda Ronas for hosting a great Incline Club party!!! I counted up the slips of paper from the drawing and it looks like we had 35 people which is a new club party PR:-) Thanks again to Nancy Hobbs and FILA (and others) for donations for the drawings. Everyone went away with something!!! **** Tony E (AKA the weather guru) nailed the forecasts!!! It was almost as fun to watch the clouds do what he predicted as is was to watch the race! **** Thanks to all of you who have been sending in your stories. It will make quite the e-mail to send out. I will give it a few more days so everyone has a chance to get one in. I am also still working on getting together all the club results any help would be great! **** Many of you have been saying some great stuff about the Battling over the mountain piece that appeared in the Gazette: http://www.gazette.com/archive/99-08-23/spts2.html. Thanks for your opinions!! More than a few of you wrote that you did not know that this was going on. While many who came to the club runs got an earful (sorry) I just never thought to put the battle in the e-mails. Well it is there (here) now and here are the relevant e-mails if you wish to enter into the fun: Race director: (e-mail address removed for www posting) Gazette: (e-mail address removed for www posting) It does NOT matter where you stand on the issue! MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!!!! Oddly, I would like to get some mail from any of you that happen to disagree with my stance. This way I can learn what your concerns would be with doing what it takes to get the fastest runners available into the race. **** Ok I got a ton of e-mail to catch up on and hopefully I will be getting even more;-) Go out hard, when it hurts speed up...
