Sent: Thursday, December 30, 1999 11:30 AM Subject: Incline Club V4 LR #6 Just like that we have a new month on our hands. That means it is time to move up the distance we run. The new year also makes a great time to start a running streak. I have heard from several of you that state you are going to start running more this year. So just for fun and for those that want to take part I will keep track of any club streakers (running that is running with clothes on) here to help give incentive. Just give me a weekly update. The club will offer up awards of some sort once we get a feel for how many people and how long the steaks will be. Just to have some base we will count 10 minutes or more as a run. Besides it the getting ready and the getting out the door that is the hard part;-) Like the club workout board this is something that anyone can be the best at fast or slow does not matter dedication is all it takes! **** MAKE NOTE THAT THIS IS COMBINING OUR TWO RUNS This Sunday, January 2, 2000:-), 8 a.m. meet in the COG parking lot. Run out the Ute Indian Trail and then cross Hwy 24 and do the Waldo Canyon lollipop loop clockwise. Cross back over Hwy 24 (be careful) and head up Longs Ranch which connects back into the Barr Trail at No Name Creek. Run down the Barr Trail to finish the loop. 2.5-3.5 hours. Newbies skip Waldo and head up Longs Ranch Road. For those that have been doing out/backs try to get farther out before you head back. #### Sid Ruby writes: These long runs are doing so much good for me! I like the extra little commitment-incentive of meeting the club every Sunday morning, and I think itll really be money in the bank next August. Im pretty jazzed about it! #### Peak book update: In 2 weeks and a day 56 of the 100 books have been sold. $447.16 has been raised for Friends of the Peak and $806 for the Trails Coalition. http://www.skyrunner.com/story/aucbook.htm #### www post: 12/26/1999 Another group of 30 people and 5 K9s did the Ute Indian Trail and Waldo loop. Neal and Teresa T decided to keep the big falls in the family. They both drew blood with Teresa once again going for top honors. Next week we bump up the distance by another half hour:-) #### Go out hard, when it hurts speed up... Matt Carpenter www.skyrunner.com
