Dont be shy!!! #### Paul S just got his club award for coming to 25 workouts last year. If you came to 25 or more workouts (check the 1999 archives at www.skyrunner.com/incline_1999.htm) and missed the club party I have your award. #### This Sunday, January 9, 8 a.m. meet in the COG parking lot. Up to Barr Camp and out Elk Park to first bridge and back. 2.5-3.5 hours. If it would take you longer, turn around earlier. #### The Incline Club (led by club newbie Scott G) made a strong showing at the Rescue Run 10K. Let me know if I missed you and I will post it next week. http://www.pprrun.org/results/2000_rescue10k.htm PLACE POS/DIV NAME AGE TIME 1 1/6 SCOTT GALL 25 0:36:44 2 1/24 DAN VEGA 32 0:36:47 4 3/24 PAUL SULLIVAN 33 0:40:06 8 4/24 ANTHONY SURAGE 39 0:41:34 14 6/31 LARRY MILLER 49 0:43:54 17 7/24 NEAL TAYLOR 37 0:45:43 18 2/3 ANDY DIMMEN 16 0:45:55 27 1/10 GLEN ASH 62 0:50:01 101 23/24 ROBERT RONAS 35 1:11:10 PLACE POS/DIV NAME AGE TIME 3 3/17 BONNIE MOEDER 36 0:49:02 #### Club member, Jim Swinehart, ran up to Barr camp on Jan. 1, 2000, and was the first one to sign the register in the year 2000. He didnt see any other runners until past no-name creek on the way back down (too much celebrating the night before???) The sunrise was spectacular. Plus, he managed to avoid having to run the (17 mile?) Waldo Loop-Longs Ranch incline the next morning. #### Speaking of the Waldo Loop-Longs Ranch road run... THAT WAS A KILLER! The new snow made for some slow going. I was glad to see that several people made either the Waldo or the Longs Ranch road loop for the FIRST TIME! Progress is what it is all about:-) Only a few were crazy enough to go for the whole thing and with the snow such as it was it was probably a good decision. I heard reports of a few of our runners drinking out of No Name Creek and asking hikers for water and food. THESE LOOPS ARE LONG BRING FOOD AND WATER!!! Also be prepared for bad weather!!! #### WWW post: 1/2/1999 24 bipeds and 1 quadruped came out to run in the cold and new snow. The club extended the length of the run today by combining Waldo and Longs Ranch Road. The new snow made for some tough going but that is the point - to get tough we must train tough! #### Go out hard, when it hurts speed up... Matt Carpenter www.skyrunner.com
