Incline Club V4 LR #13 & Wedding

Subject: Incline Club V4 LR #13 & Wedding

This Sunday, February the 20th 2000, Yvonne Franceschini and I, who met at
an Incline Club workout, are getting married during the Incline Club’s
Sunday long run. We hope that you can come!

The ceremony, performed by Incline Club member Bob McAndrews, will take
place at 9:30 a.m. at the first little overlook on the Waldo Canyon trail.
This overlook is just 1/2 mile after the trailhead. Even walking from the
parking lot it should not take much more than 10-15 minutes — if that! It
has been run in about 3 minutes.

There are several options for getting to the ceremony at the end of this
mail. For those that choose option #2 the first male and female to the
overlook will become, appropriately enough, the best man and best woman
(bridesmaid). These two runners will get the all important ring detail:-)

Please practice up on humming the theme to the movie “Chariots of Fire” as
well as “Here Comes the Bride.” We have tracked down over 70 kazoos so
everyone will be helping out at the ceremony by being a part of the largest
kazoo orchestra ever seen North of Manitou and South of Cascade!!! For those
that are not familiar with the theme from Chariots of Fire it goes likes
this:

(hummed to the tune of the theme from Chariots of Fire)
do do do do dooo da
do do do do dooo da
da da da de doo da
de de da da dooo

Ok, in case you have not figured it out we plan on having some fun at our
wedding:-) Several have asked about bringing children and friends etc.
That is 100% AOK but we do not recommend having them run the Ute Indian
Trail! Further, feel free to pass this on to anyone or anything you know! We
plan on taking the Incline Club attendance record to a new level!!!

Also, later that evening at 6 p.m., you are all invited to Yvonne’s and my
house for the reception. Massive amounts of cake, ice cream and pizza will
be there:-) For those that are stuck on the tradition thing we are
registered at Foley’s and the Sears tool section of the Chapel Hills Mall.
Directions to our house are at the end of this mail.

Yvonne and I look forward to seeing you at both the wedding ceremony and the
reception to share in our celebration!

Matt & Yvonne

OPTIONS FOR GETTING TO THE CEREMONY:
1) Drive to the Waldo Canyon trailhead and do the short hike/walk/jog/run.
This is for non-running guests, parents, kids, the injured, pregnant, or
other reason lists and sub lists.

2) Meet at the regular 8:00 a.m. time at the COG parking lot and run to the
Waldo Canyon via the Ute Indian Trail. This is the method that most will use
and this is also the approach the Bride and Groom will be taking. One hour
and a half should be more than enough time for everyone to get to the
overlook. In fact for many the key will be to run enough extra before or
after reaching the overlook so that you do not end up standing around for 30
minutes. For that reason several of us will do the whole Waldo Canyon loop
which should eat up the extra time. Others will be heading to the “Y”
intersection in Waldo and back. For this group of runners we will have a car
or two at the start of the run for you to put any extra clothes, coats, hats
etc. in so that you can get them at the Waldo parking lot after you get the
main portion of the run done.

3) Start earlier or later than 8:00a.m. from the COG. This is good for the
people that know how long it will take them to get to the overlook. In some
cases people will start early so that they can do the whole Waldo loop and
in other cases people will start late so that they only have to run to the
spot without having to run extra to pass the time till 9:30 a.m.

DIRECTIONS TO WALDO AND THE COG:
The Waldo Canyon Trailhead is about 2 miles from Manitou Springs heading
west on Hwy 24. The COG depot is at the west end or Ruxton Street in Manitou
Springs — just follow the signs. Manitou Springs is at the base of Pikes
Peak. Pikes Peak is, well, you know...

DIRECTIONS TO THE RECEPTION:
The reception is at 36 El Paso Blvd in Manitou Springs. To get there
turn off of Manitou Avenue onto Beckers Lane. Beckers Lane is the main entry
way into the Garden of the Gods Park from the West — it is the street that
the GOG Trading Post is on. For those that the GOG and Trading Post mean
nothing take HWY 24 to the main Manitou Springs exit (#141) and head EAST
(away from Pikes Peak) on Manitou Avenue. The first stoplight you come to is
Beckers Lane. Once on Beckers Lane the first cross-street you will come to
is El Paso Blvd. You will know you are there if at this intersection you see
two baseball fields on your right. Our house is across from the outfield of
the first baseball field. This means you will take a right on El Paso and we
are on the corner of El Paso Blvd and Via Linda Vista. It is the far East
Townhome — again that is 36 El Paso Blvd. If you need further instructions
call us at 685-5654.

PARKING FOR THE RECEPTION:
The PREFERRED parking place will be in the parking spots at the baseball
field where you will have to walk the couple hundred yards to my house.
Parking can also be done along El Paso Blvd next to the baseball fields.
For the early birds there is also parking next to the house on Via Linda
Vista.
