A message for Carol

Subject: A message for Carol

Hi all,

Some sad news.

Incline Club member Carol Sauceda’s 18-year old son died last Sunday. For
those that do not run regularly with the group or do not know Carol she has
been to 11 of our 17 runs this year and has run Pikes Peak 10 out of the
last 13 years. She is the one always smiling and offering encouragement and
although she was often at the back of our group she would run farther than
all of us. Recently I asked her why she had so much stuff and she said
because she was going for 23 miles and wanted to be ready for anything. I
think the longest group run is “only” 16 miles. She just set her pace and
ran and ran and ran.

The ceremony for Alan, rather than a memorial service, it is a celebration
of Alan’s life — don’t wear black, and running shoes would be welcome as he
ran, mtn biked, hiked and loved the outdoors as we all do.

Alan Sauceda, 1 pm Friday at Woodmen Valley Old Stone Chapel
- 477 Woodmen Road. (just across rail road track bridge west of I-25)

Also they would welcome any finger foods for the reception afterwards as
they are expecting a lot of people including a lot of classmates from the
high school and are a little concerned that a lot of kids will eat a lot of
food.

Carol has really been drawing on the strength and support of friends and
family and is very appreciative of the support and understanding everyone
has been extending, and it has meant a lot to her to know people care.

If you wish, you can send a note to Teresa Taylor (e-mail address removed for www posting) and
she will pass it on to Carol.

Thanks,

Matt
