A new surprise workout:-) Sunday, April 30, 8 a.m. meet at Soda Springs Park. Run out the Ute Indian Trail and then cross Hwy 24 and do the Waldo Canyon lollipop loop clockwise. Cross back over Hwy 24 (be careful) and head up Longs Ranch which connects back into the Barr Trail at No Name Creek. Run down the Barr Trail to finish the loop. 2.5-3.5 hours. Newbies skip Waldo and head up Longs Ranch Road. #### Last Thursday Keith G came to his 25th club run of the 2000 season thus becoming the first person this year to earn the Incline Club award that is handed out at the end of the season. More than 25 other people are over half way there keep it up! #### Donna S writes: Since I am a flatlander from VT, and am trying to simulate (as best I can) the training schedule that you folks are doing, I need a bit more info. Specifically, what is the approx. distance of the Hydro St. hill repeats? (It is about 25-35 seconds I would guess. Also it is about 20% which is about twice the Barr Trail. Combine the two and I think you come up with about 100 yards. Like doing repeats on a short bridge overpass.) #### Ladd M writes: Howdy, my names Ladd. I used to be a trail runner and Incline club devotee until I got a stress fracture in my pelvis. Now Ive de-evolved to that lower life form known as a mountain biker. Last Friday I rode my bike to the Experimental Forrest and back down. Along the way I crashed a couple times (which is par for the course) and discovered later that I had lost my watch. If any of you bi-peds would happen to wonder across a Casio Altimeter watch on the trail I would be greatly obliged if you called me at (719) 231-9770. Run on, my two footed friends. #### Mike K writes: You should remind everybody who hasnt signed up for the PPA/PPM that they should do it ASAP because the races are almost closed. #### www posts: 4/23/2000 35 started Easter Sunday off with a run to Barr Camp and back. I thought a lot less would show on the holiday so this was a pleasant surprise. The snow is starting to melt big time! There is no snow until just after No Name Creek and from there until the 1/2 mile to Barr Camp sign it is only patchy (most are worn down to the trail:-) thus the run to Barr Camp is almost fun again after months of ice city. 4/20/2000 Another 38 runners headed up to Hydro Street today this time for a tempo run. A most important workout where we learn to run an even pace over uneven terrain. Another set of Hydro Street hill repeats rounded out the workout before a cool down run back down to Soda Springs Park. #### Go out hard, when it hurts speed up...
