Incline Club Party:-)

Subject: Incline Club Party:-)

Its a wrap! The Incline Club tore up the mountain again. We had 8 top 10s,
7 more top 20s, a truckload of people placing in age-groups and boatload
of people finishing one or both of the races — now it ‘s time to
celebrate!!!

WHAT:
The annual Incline Club party!!!
*** Food & drink
*** Pictures of Incline Club runners from the ascent and marathon
*** Slide show of Incline Club runners from the Barr Trail Mountain Race
*** Winner take all pool tournament
*** Hanging out and yacking with other like minded crazies
*** And of course club awards to those that made 25 or more workouts

WHEN:
This Thursday the 24th from 5:30pm till the neighbors call the police!

WHO:
This is not an exclusive party! Don’t feel like you did not come to enough
workouts or whatever — just come. Also feel free to bring friends,
significant others, non significant others etc. No one will be turned away!
Also don’t stay home just because you would be late or have to leave early.
No pets please. Party counts for a “*” for all who come.

WHAT TO BRING:
-- We will be having Domino’s Pizza as the main dish. The cost of the Pizza
will be split among all those that show. Please bring $5 — preferably in
ones. Last time it worked out to $3 each.

-- If your last name is in the A-G range bring something to drink;
softdrinks, juices, whatever. If your last name is in the H-M range bring
something to snack on; chips, pretzels, whatever. If your last name is in
the N-Z range bring dessert; ice cream, brownies, ice cream, cookies, ice
cream whatever. Yes, we know the N-Z range is a bit bigger than the other
two but this worked well two years ago:-)

-- For the “winner take all” pool tournament there is a $1 entry fee. Glen A
has gone undefeated in the last two pool tournaments so play only if you can
afford to pay!

-- If you like your photos from the ascent or marathon you can have them at
cost which I imagine works out to well under a buck. So bring a couple more
in case you got your picture taken by Yvonne.

WHERE:
The party is at Matt and Yvonne’s house at 36 El Paso Blvd in Manitou
Springs. To get there turn off of Manitou Avenue onto Beckers Lane. Beckers
Lane is the main entry way into the Garden of the Gods Park from the West —
it is the street that the GOG Trading Post is on. For those that the GOG and
Trading Post mean nothing take HWY 24 to the main Manitou Springs exit
(#141) and head EAST (away from Pikes Peak) on Manitou Avenue. The first
stoplight you come to is Beckers Lane. Once on Beckers Lane the first
cross-street you will come to is El Paso Blvd. You will know you are there
if at this intersection you see two baseball fields on your right. Our house
is across from the outfield of the first baseball field. This means you will
take a right on El Paso and we are on the corner of El Paso Blvd and Via
Linda Vista. It is the far East Townhome — again that is 36 El Paso Blvd.
If you need further instructions call us at 685-5654 or click on the www
link to a map on the Incline Club page. www.skyrunner.com/incline.htm The
preferred parking place will be in the parking spots at the baseball field
where you can walk just a couple hundred yards to our house. Parking can
also be done along El Paso Blvd next to the baseball fields. People do it
all the time during games so I see no cause for concern here.

IMPORTANT:
If you know someone who ran with us that is e-mail impaired please pass this
invitation on to them!

WRAP-UP:
Incline Club Pikes Peak (and Leadville) wrap-up to come in a separate e-mail
but I thought I should get this out today...

WIN A T-SHIRT:
Attached is another photo in the tradition of those great adidas ads. Be the
first to guess who’s leg is shown and win T-shirt at the party! (leg owner
not eligible)

Pikes Peak Marathon Reward:-)

####
Go out hard, when it hurts speed up...
