Way to go! / Incline Club Party

Howdy ICers,

I am so impressed and inspired by the dedication displayed by the members of the IC this year! And what a strange year it has been with the closing of the mountain, the heat, the dryness etc. Even race day (well I can’t speak for the marathon runners) was just hell with all of the smoke in the air. However you took on all obstacles and once again the IC was cleaning up at the awards ceremony! In all 7 ICers in the top 10 and 17 more getting age-group or masters awards and it looks like ICers also took the overall M/F spots in the TCR as well:-) In fact, because there was such low turn-outs at the awards ceremonies by non ICers there were times it looked more like the annual IC awards party!

Speaking of the IC party it is TIME TO PARTY! Jack Ramsey recommend we look into the Mansions Park as our party location instead of Soda Springs Park. He was correct and it is perfect and we have it reserved for this Thursday from 5:30 till it closes. Details of what to bring and the park location are below.

Next, lets not forget the ICU (Incline Club Ultra runners). While the Leadville site (http://www.leadvilletrail100.com) has yet to post results I have been told that several ICers did great!

MOST IMPORTANT: As you oldbies know, it is a tradition after Pikes Peak to fill out the “Things done right / Things done wrong” reports about our races. These get posted on Skyrunner.com and are read by 100s and 100s of PPA/M runners. I can’t tell you how many times a PP newbie has said that those reports helped them prepare for their race. I have tweaked the club “R” reports page to make it more Pikes Peak / Leadville specific so please head over and fill out your report. http://www.inclineclub.com/rreports.htm

#############################
6th Annual Incline Club Party
#############################
WHAT:
The annual Incline Club party!!!
*** Club awards to those that made 35 or more workouts
*** Food & Drink
*** Perhaps a food challenge or 2, or 3
*** Hanging out and yacking with other like minded crazies

PLEASE check that your *s, Rs etc. are up to date not counting the PPA/M unless you did not run it. I know of about 9 people who were not in the races but came out to cheer other ICers on (and got as high as No Name) and can therefore get credit for the day. However if you fall into that category I need to know about it. Also, I am seeking input for the driven award for this year. There were many people that thought I copped out last year by giving 5 driven awards to those with perfect streaks. Fine, I accept that. However to help me make a decision this year I would love to read who you would pick and why. This is NOT a vote but is important input because there are so many people worthy of the award.

WHEN:
This Thursday the 22th from 5:30pm till about 8:30 when it gets dark

WHERE:
The party is at Mansions Park in Manitou Springs. This is the park directly behind the Manitou City Hall and Fire station. There is tons of parking at Memorial park which is where the Ascent awards ceremony was held.

WHO:
This is not an exclusive party! Don’t feel like you did not come to enough workouts or whatever — just come. Also feel free to bring friends, significant others, non significant others etc. No one will be turned away! Also don’t stay home just because you would be late or have to leave early. Party counts for a “*” for all who come.

WHAT TO BRING:
-- $5 which will cover the pizza and the rental of the park which was only $25 anyway. We will be having Domino’s Pizza as the main dish.
-- If your *last* name is in the A-H range bring something to snack on; chips, pretzels, etc. If your last name is in the I-P range bring dessert; ice cream, brownies, cookies etc. If your last name is in the Q-Z range bring something to drink; softdrinks, juices, etc.
-- If you are one of those sick types that likes to watch others make fools of themselves bring your betting money for any food challenges that may happen.

WHAT NOT TO BRING:
-- Because we are in a city park we are not allowed to have alcohol!
-- Please, no pets!

IMPORTANT:
If you know someone who ran with us that is e-mail impaired please pass this invitation on to them!
