Subject: Incline Club: NO Barr Camp water / Training guide
Hi ICers,
I wanted to get the word out as fast as possible to as many as possible that effective Wednesday, June 16, the Forest Service will no longer allow Barr Camp to serve water to the public! There have been NO known issues with the water at Barr Camp but because of potential liability issues the current filtering system is no longer considered adequate and Barr Camp is being forced to upgrade their water system. Barr Camp hopes to have something in place in the next month or so but this cut-off came as a bit of a shock.
Bottom line, make sure you take plenty of water (or whatever you drink) with you or bring $2 to buy some Gatorade. This should not effect the 3 races on Pikes Peak other than they will have to filter their own water instead of having Barr Camp do it for them.
Please don’t ask me a lot of questions on this issue because you now know what I know. I will of course keep you posted as I learn more.
