NEXT RUN:
***********************************************

Sunday, Feb 18, 8:00am — Memorial Park
Head out El Paso and into the GOG. Run up Rampart Range Road to just past the antenna or further. Head down Williams Canyon one mile and take the right up to Waldo and head back to the park via UPT. 2.5-4 hours. Shorter option — go all the way down Williams. See map: http://www.inclineclub.com/maps.htm

Sunday, Feb 25, 8:00am — Memorial Park
If snow is better (otherwise Rampart Range Road again...) Waldo/LRR double! Run the UPT and then head over and do Waldo Canyon — clockwise. Next, head up LRR and return via the Barr Trail. 3-4 hours, if it would be longer skip Waldo. See map: http://www.inclineclub.com/maps.htm

Prevent Theft From Your Vehicle
Sid Rubey writes: This was passed on by an officer who works with our neighborhood:

During this past week myself along with other officers from the Gold
Hills Neighborhood Policing Unit have been doing a stake out at 24 hour
fitness on Southgate road due to the number of car break-ins.

This morning we arrested two adult males doing these crimes. During my
interview with the driver of the get away vehicle, he explained to me
they watch women going into the gyms and the nature trails and hit their
cars. He said because women do not take their purses with them but
leave them on the seat or on the floor of their cars.

We’ve cleared a minimum of 26 burglaries with many more possible.
Average time was less than one minute to break-in and remove the purse.
The used a large screwdriver to pry into the seal of the window and pop
the glass, reach in and take the purse. They do not touch the door and
wearing leather gloves.

They’ve admitted to 24 hour fitness, world gym, Helen Hunt Falls, Bear
Creek Park Nature Center, the dog park, Colo Spgs Racket Club, Balleys
Fitness and just driving around finding cars. They are not from Colo
Spgs but from Canyon City.

SO PLEASE LOCK UP YOUR BELONGINGS IN THE TRUNK OR KEEP IT AT HOME.

Thanks, Officer Garcia

Way to Go, Anton
Marti writes: I can’t seem to see Anton’s email address on the Incline Club’s Website. Please forward on to him how much I appreciate his feeling running the 100 miler. As a non elite, it’s nice to know he has the same concerns I have in shorter races. I always thought elites had different mind sets. Now, when I’m in the middle of a trail race/marathon feeling down on myself, I’ll think of him and I’ll keep on with “constant forward motion.” As he said, the faster you run, the sooner you’ll be crossing the finish line. Thanks alot, Anton!!!!! -Martina

(Editor’s note: You probably had trouble finding him b/c Anton’s About Me page is listed as Tony Krupicka http://inclineclub.com/show.asp?name=Tony%20Krupicka. All IC email addresses are ‘hidden’ to prevent spam to our members, but you can always send a message via the ‘Send Me A Message’ link at the top of each ‘About Me’ page!)

2/11/2007 Sun: Another group of 67 showed today and a lot of us ran in shorts:-) There was very little snow/ice on Rampart Range Road until after the shooting range. Even then it was not bad. The same can not be said for most other trails with various people all using the same words in their reports; ice, icy, dangerous, post holing etc...
