Good evening!

This week’s news will be brief! For those who sent in “R” Reports, we got ‘em! They’ll be in next week’s news.

Dogs On the Run?
A reminder from an old newsletter that is as relevant today as it was in 2005: Please remember that while the IC started out as a K9 friendly club, dogs are no longer welcome at club runs! Simply, there were too many dog fights, too much dog poop and way too many people (dog owners and non owners alike) getting knocked down by dogs. If you want to run with people come run with us. Otherwise, please leave 15 minutes before or after the group if you feel you need to run with your dog.

Can “I” Run With the Incline Club?
As the summer running season is drawing near, some of us are coming out of hibernation :) and wondering if it’s too ‘late’ to start running with the Incline Club. Or wondering if we’re too slow or too directionally challenged, or, or, or.....

The answer is that no it’s not too late, you aren’t too slow, and use caution on the trails just like you would with any other run or outdoor pursuit.

Everyone who wants to get in shape and improve their running (and are crazy enough to want to do that on Pike’s Peak) is welcome! And remember that the Incline Club site (http://www.inclineclub.com) is a great resource with club FAQs, maps of our runs and much much more.

Train hard and train smart,

Connilee

USATF, Trail Running and Matt Carpenter in the News Again
William Keller writes: Remember Point-Counterpoint on Saturday Night Live? Or maybe CNN’s Crossfire show? Matt Carpenter goes mano-a-mano with the USATF over Trail Running funds and a lack of support in the latest issue of the Running Times. Matt makes a great case, and their rebuttal exchanges come up short. Advantage — Carpenter!
