Subject: The Barr Trail needs our help
Hello ICers,
I am writing to ask for some help for the Friends of the Peak Trail Dogs. A new shipment of rails has come in for the fencing along the Barr Trail. As you may remember, over the season several big rocks broke through quite a few sections on the trail.
We have been called upon to take the new rails to their needed locations which have been marked with orange Xs so they can be installed. There are only about 30 rails left to be moved and none need to go even as high as the Incline Overlook with most of the locations being much lower than that. If about 20 of us show we will probably be done in about a half hour. If we get a bigger group most will only have to take one trip with two people per rail very easy work but next to impossible for the couple of people installing the rails.
While I realize this is short notice, I am asking that if you can please meet at the pile of rails (about a tenth of a mile past the gates where the dirt starts at the top of Ruxton near where the green chlorine gas building used to be) tomorrow, Saturday October 13, at 7am. Please bring gloves!!!
In closing, I have always felt that it is important for our club to give back to the trail we spend so much time running on and this is another great opportunity. I hope you will consider joining us!
Thank you,
Go out hard, when the rails get heavy, speed up!
Matt Carpenter
