Subject: Incline Club News V12 - Race Report and End of Season Party Reminder

Hi Incline Club,

Wow, Is that *Really* The Forecast?
I’m sure I wasn’t the only one thinking these words on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. What a crazy weather year this was, proving that the only expected thing above Pike’s Peak is the ‘un’-expected!!! Congratulations to each and every person who was on the mountain this weekend — finishers and non-finishers, volunteers and rescuers alike — it was a *tough* weekend! Please please please write your race reports, and include how you dressed and coped with the weather, or what you might do differently under similar conditions. This can be really valuable information for yourself and others in future years!

End of Season Party

What:
12th annual Incline Club party

When:
Thursday, August 21, 5:45pm — Mansions Park!!! Mansions Park is behind Manitou City Hall or next to Memorial park where we normally meet for our runs.

Why:
*Club awards to those who made 45 or more workouts. Again, make sure your *s, Rs and what not’s are up to date!!! Matt is seeking input for the driven award(s) for the year — send feedback to i(e-mail removed to prevent spam)
*Food & Drink — enough to make you need to go for a run!
*Perhaps a food challenge or game or 2, or 3
*Hanging out and telling Pikes Peak and Leadville war stories. There should be a lot of good ones this year!

What to bring:
*A few bucks for Pizza — should be only about $3-$4.
*If your *last* name is in the A-H range bring dessert; ice cream, brownies, cookies, etc. If your *last* name is in the I-P range bring something to drink; softdrinks, juices, etc. (no beer allowed in park -
sorry). If your *last* name is in the Q-Z range bring something to snack on; chips, pretzels, etc.
*You may also want to bring a chair to sit on.

Who can come:
Family (kids too) and friends are welcome but no pets please. As always, don’t feel you can’t come just because you did not make a club run or only made a few. If you are getting this e-mail you are an ICer:-)

It’s Recovery Time
You’ve worked hard all season, it’s time to take a break. Sometime between now and the official start of the 2008-2009 Incline Club Season, be sure to take some time off and renew your mind and body before starting up again!

Post PPM/Leadville Party at the Sullivan’s:
Paul Sullivan writes: Angela and I are having our annual post PPM/Leadville party on Saturday, August 23, at 4:30 p.m. Food, Beer/Soda and a double batch of Angela’s Sangria provided. Pls. bring your own grillable
item and a small side dish to share. Kids are absolutely welcome — big yard with playground.
