Subject: Incline Club News V14 TH #2 LR #21 — Rules of Engagement
Good Evening Incline Club!
Nice to see over 50 fellow IC’ers show up for the first Thursday run of the season. In keeping with tradition, we are easing into the Thursday Night runs and starting with 20 minutes rather than the traditional 30.
Also in keeping with tradition, we are making minor tweaks to the Thursday evening Rules of Engagement to address some requests from our neighbors on Ruxton. See below for details.

NEXT RUN: Tempo (Thursday) Double (Sunday)

Thursday, Apr 15, 5:45pm — Hydro Street+
Warm up from Memorial Park in time to get to Hydro Street. Do a 20 minute tempo run up the Barr Trail. Easy back down the Barr Trail. Do 4 PI hill repeats.
Sunday, Apr 18, 8:00am — Memorial Park
Waldo/LRR double! Run the UPT and then head over and do Waldo Canyon — either way. Next, head up LRR and return via the Barr Trail. 3-4 hours, if it would be longer just do Waldo or LRR.

Thursday Evening Rules of Engagement:
***********************************************
As many of the vets know, over the past few years we have had to make tweaks to the Thursday evening workouts to avoid things like cars, out of town drivers, and more cars.
This year there are two additional but minor changes:
1) Please stay out of the road before the start of the run. Several of the neighbors on Ruxton have asked us to not block the road or access to the mailbox just west of the Hydro/Ruxton intersection before the start of the run. The main issue is that our starting time happens to overlap with their arrival home from work. With everybody milling about before the run we have tended to do a not so neighborly job of clogging up the road. So please stay on the dirt patch to the south of the intersection.
2) Hill repeats are being moved down to the Paul Intemann Trail (just past the Iron Spring on the right side). Once again, this will keep us from clogging up the road. Follow the crowd that showed up last week or listen for the out of breath runners :-) See http://intemann-trail.com/Maps/IronSpring.png for a map. Note that you can follow the trail down to Pawnee Ave to avoid having to run down Ruxton and Manitou Ave to get back to your car at Memorial Park.

Barr Trail Conditions Report:

As several folks discovered, last week the trail was almost totally clear below No Name (the rock arch being the only minor issue). Above No Name until the 1/2 mile to go sign it was a mix of packed snow on the north and east slopes, dry dirt on the south and west facing slopes and occasional ice packs in the really shady sections. Above the 1/2 to go sign it was hard packed and slick snow.
This week we had some nice warm weather and occasional rain so hopefully the stuff above No Name has started to melt.
