Places I’ve called home and why I like where I am now:
Colorado Springs and Boulder. The mountains, the trails, the active community.
When I started running and what got me started:
I went out for cross country to prove a point to a friend in high school. I stopped running during college and fell in love with it again when I started running to lose weight and regain the Gleason Family Record in the Ascent.
What does running mean to me:
A clear mind and healthy lifestyle.

What I like about trail/mountain running:
The beauty and the quiet.
Favorite running trail and why:
Waldo Canyone and St. Mary's Falls. They are challenging and both provide spectacular views.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Ascent. It kicks your ass no matter how good of shape you are in.
Best running experience:
Cross Country Regionals my sophmore year in high school. I ran 18:36 for 5K but it proved to me that I can be a runner.
Worst running experience:
2010 Ascent. I THOUGHT I was in better shape than a 3:17:00. Looking back it was probably the right time. It has made me much more dedicated and determined for the 2011 Ascent.
Neatest thing found on a run:
A bear about 15 yards ahead of me one morning while running up the Chutes.
Running pet peeves:
Headphones!
Other hobbies and interests:
All sports.
