What I do for work:
I'm a River Raft guide on Clear Creek in the summer and a student in the winter.
Places I’ve called home and why I like where I am now:
Eastern part of CO is where I grew up, but I love the mountains. The mountains are my home now!
When I started running and what got me started:
I did track in high school, the 400 and 300 hurdles. I started running 2 miles and gradually increased my miles. Now I'm getting into racing 5K and 10Ks more seriously!
What does running mean to me:
Freedom, a get away, clearing my head, kicking my butt physically and mentally, competition, part of my life!
Running accomplishments:
Getting into racing, now I'm wanting to get more serious about my races.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
The challange and remoteness!
Favorite running trail and why:
Lair O Bear and Lookout Mountain trail starting at hwy 6.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Teva Games 10K Spring Run Off, the hardest trail race I've ever been to. One day I will place in the top 3!
Best running experience:
Running down a trail right as a Thunderstorm came in as it started raining. It was AWESOME!
Worst running experience:
Teva games 10K trail race, my first 10K and racing long distance. I pushed WAY too hard at the beginning but finished 12th place. It was ROUGH!
Running related bathroom stop story:
Haha...a news helicopter flying above me while doing a bathroom stop in an open field.
Running pet peeves:
When my hands get sweaty.
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
I love eating crackers/cheese and a mixed drink with some friends!
Other hobbies and interests:
Mountain biking, rafting, bakcpacking, kayaking, painting, reading. I love variety in everything I do!
Other stuff:
I want to get more serious about training but don't have the money to higher someone.
