When I started running and what got me started:
When I was 12, P.E. "Friday Fitness Tests"

What does running mean to me:
Meditation, Zoning, The Beautiful Scenery, Sunrises and Sunsets, Accomplishments...basically EVERYTHING!

Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
In High School as a Freshman I ran a 5K race in Canyon City. One of the hardest races of my life! It was at least 92 degrees that day and runners were dropping like flies especially when we crossed the bridge where all the heat was contained. I recall seeing five girls vomiting on the course and still more runners purging as the miles went on. I learned that day the will of the mind really is greater than the body. I never stopped running the race and I never puked my guts out!

Worst running experience:
Salin' Shoes 5K 2007. I had to drop out at the 1st Mile Mark. I had been sold the wrong shoes and and had run the Garden of the Gods 10 Mile the week before gaining a stress fracture in my left ankle. I didn't discover I had the stress fracture till the Salin' Shoes Race! Put me out the rest of the Season!
