What I do for work:
I am a Commander in the U.S. Navy (17 years), and work for the U.S. Northern Command at Peterson Air Force Base.
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
Anchorage, Alaska; Honolulu, Hawaii; Key West, Florida; Monterey California; Newport, Rhode Island; San Diego, California; London, England. I like the Springs because of the clean air and friendly people.
When I started running and what got me started:
I started running in primary school for the exercise.
What does running mean to me:
Running is the number one thing I call my hobby, since it is the one thing I spend the most time doing for myself.

7 Marathons in the last three years: Suzuki Rock & Roll (San Diego), San Diego (Carlsbad), LA, Anchorage, Seattle, Rome and Leadville Trail. 20+ marathons overall.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
I like trail running for the scenery.
Favorite running trail and why:
A circle around the base of Diamond Head in Honolulu at sunset.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Anchorage Midnight Sun Marathon. It is my hometown, and the trail along the Chugach Mountains is very nice.
Best running experience:
Rome Marathon. The scenery past the historic sites was amazing!
Worst running experience:
No bad running experiences, sorry.
Neatest thing found on a run:
Moose and calf on a trail run in Alaska.
Running related bathroom stop story:
When nature calls, nature is always available.
Running pet peeves:
I drink water all the time on all runs, no matter what the distance.
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
I am applying to be a NASA Mission Specialist.
Other hobbies and interests:
Sight-seeing in all the places I live.
Other stuff:
I am registered for the 2003 Pikes Peak Marathon, Denver Marathon, and Durango Marathon.
