Germany where I was born and raised. Wisconsin, Oklahoma and since 1986 Colorado Springs.
When I started running and what got me started:
I started "running " on the treadmill in 1997 to lose weight. I lost 45 pounds by spending an hour on the afore mentioned piece of equipment everyday. In the spring of 2004 , I was persuaded to trade in the treadmill for the trails.
What does running mean to me:
Running means relaxation and peace of mind. I do a lot of thinking when I run.
Running accomplishments:

I'm relativly new to racing , so I only have a grand total of 5 races under my belt. :-)
What I like about trail/mountain running:
The ever changing terrain and scenery.
Favorite running trail and why:
I love Waldo Canyon . It's so peaceful.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
So far I would have to say The Barr Trail race. There are no suprises because of all the training we do.
Best running experience:
The Leadville "Heavy Half" was a really good race for me. I did it just a week after I fell so I wore splints and my knee hurt. I didn't expect much from myself (exept to stay upright)so I decided to just have fun. I did OK time-wise and I enjoyed myself ;-).
Worst running experience:
Last June I fell on a Thursday evening run on the Barr Trail (where else) where I broke some fingers and really messed up my knee, thigh and chest, LOL. It was one of my more fantastic falls.(I tend to fall a lot) I still can't bend one of the fingers and I can't straighten the other one.My hand is looking good ;-)
