What I do for work:
Field sales rep covering Colorado, New Mexico, Utah.
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
Born and raised in Colorado. Born in Denver, grew up in Lakewood and Evergreen. Colorado is very diverse and I have to have the outdoors and mountains.
When I started running and what got me started:
I started running consistently in 1995 and committed myself to running as it makes me feel great and relieves stress.
What does running mean to me:
It is part of my life. It really is the only exercise I have consistently been able to do. If I have to miss more than a couple of days of running, I feel terrible.
Running accomplishments:
View my Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon results
I have ran every Bolder Boulder since 1995. I have ran several 1/2 marathons. Last year, 2002, I ran the American Discovery Trails Marathon and the RimRock Run at the Colorado National Monument, a 23 mile run. I typically run 8 - 10 events a year. I have signed up for my first Pikes Peak Marathon this year, and will run the Fort Collins Old town Marathon, ADTM Marathon again and Rim Rock again.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
Trail/Mountain running is new for me. I am very committed to the Pikes Peak event but need to be with a group of runners familiar with the event and mountain running.
Favorite running trail and why:
Do not have one.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Do not have one,
Best running experience:
Rim Rock Run last year. The first 5 miles are extremely steep and the race is very challenging. The weather was very rainy and foggy and the entire race seemed very out of this world.
Worst running experience:
None come to mind.
Running pet peeves:
People who go straight to the front of the race start, come out full blast, and then 1/4 of a mile out clog the race as they slow down to heave and gasp.
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
I have 3 kids.
Other hobbies and interests:
Listening to good jazz and other types of music, snow skiing, camping with my oldest son, landscaping.
Other stuff:
I like to circuit train at home with free weights. My running goal this year is to complete Pikes Peak. I love Mexican food and being in Pueblo is one of the best towns for Mexican food. I like a good comedy or drama movie and have read several Steven King and Michael Crighton books.
