2005 Ascent. It was a good year. Can I do it again? How about TRAINING?

Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
All over the world, England (where I'm from), the middle east, Texas (a country in itself), but Manitou Springs keeps calling me home. I've been here 15 years...
When I started running and what got me started:
Started trail running with a boyfriend, and discovered I didn't injure myself like I did on the roads.
What does running mean to me:
Sanity. A good excuse to get out and get fresh air and exercise in our wonderful hills. Fun to do with friends, wonderful to do alone. Races are something to work towards. Problems at the beginning of the run solved by the end!
Running accomplishments:
View my Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon results
The Ascent in under 4 hours.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
No injuries, fresh air and beautiful countryside. Clears my mind!
Favorite running trail and why:
Local trails around here. Sometimes Monument Valley Park or Garden of the Gods when I'm tired of the uphills.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon, because it's right outside my front door!
Best running experience:
My best Ascent time. I surprised myself! Running in downpour in the rain forest in Costa Rica, by the ocean.
Worst running experience:
Downhill in the Pikes Peak Marathon. Never again. Can't train long enough due to the time it takes. So good for you all you guys who put the time in!
Neatest thing found on a run:
My good friend, Angi, while running Barr Trail.
Running pet peeves:
Motorized vehicles on the trail.
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
I sing in the Colorado Springs Chorale.
Other hobbies and interests:
Gardening, singing, taking care of my old house.
Other stuff:
Favorite book of the moment: The Power of Now.
