Recently moved back to Colorado Springs from Durango, Colorado. We moved back due to my job. We're happy to be back having lived in the Springs for 5 years from 2000-2005.

When I started running and what got me started:
I have been running fairly routinely for 10 years, but I'm more of a cyclist. 95% of my running is on dirt.

What does running mean to me:
Fitness and mental health time!

Running accomplishments:
Best accomplishments: age group duathlon victories, seldom enter just a running event.

What I like about trail/mountain running:
Being outdoors and the variety of terrain you get to sample.

Favorite running trail and why:
Ute Valley Park (outside my front door), Santa Fe Trail (recovery run) and Blodgett Peak (uphill workout).

Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
The Fall/Winter Series in the Springs are great races. Turkey Trot events.

Any race where I didn't take in enough carbs or was hydrated properly!

New pair of Smith sunglasses.

Running related bathroom stop story:
I have been "caught" a few times in the process of disposing waste...

Running pet peeves:
Keep your dog on a leash. Don't run if the trails are soaked/trashed. Pick up your garbage.

Other stuff:
Have a coaching plan and follow it!
